I hope you are having a wonderful week! I just took the third edge to edge quilt off my machine and am doing a little custom on the side! I spent all morning pulling weeds with my grandson and planting flowers! We really got things cleaned up and ready for summer! Today was a very hot day in Texas! We spent a few minutes getting the pool swim ready too!

🧵 Threaded Thoughts​
This past weekend was one for the memory books! My husband Tom and I traveled to Oxford, Mississippi to celebrate our granddaughter’s (Trin) graduation from Ole Miss! It was such a joy to walk the campus with her, soak in the beauty of the university, and feel all the excitement in the air.

She earned her BS in Business (so proud!) and, get this…she also got her pilot’s license while in college. Talk about driven! Watching her step confidently into her next chapter made my heart swell. I can’t wait to see where she soars next, literally and figuratively.

🧵 The Quilter’s Corner​
Graduating from college and stepping into the “real world” reminds me so much of being a new quilter. Everything feels big and exciting, but also a bit overwhelming. There’s so much to learn, and yet so much joy in each little milestone.

I just wrapped up teaching at another wonderful HandiQuilter event and met so many fantastic quilters who are at all stages of their journey, from curious beginners to seasoned stitchers looking to sharpen their skills. It’s always such a gift to connect, laugh, and learn alongside each other.

I want to thank one student (you know who you are!) who emailed me after with a great suggestion! She recommended that I provide handouts for each class. I actually used to do this but fell out of the practice of making handouts.

I LOVE the idea of bringing back handouts to my classes (online and in person). I know when I go to a class or lecture, I like to leave with something in my hands. Even if it's just an outline that I can add notes to!

It can be my way of coming into your studio with you! The key elements of the class listed on the handout (your personal notes written on it as well). Your little reminder to practice!

I challenge each student to practice, practice, practice so you can master what you learned.

Things are buzzing behind the scenes! I have a few exciting collaborations in the works that I can’t quite spill the beans on yet... but trust me, you’ll want to stay tuned.

In the meantime, I’ve got something fun launching next week…a YouTube Live series! I’ll be going live every day at 6pm for a bit of free motion quilting fun. Expect helpful tips, real-time stitching, and a peek into how I design and work motifs into quilts. It’ll be relaxed, informal, and full of inspiration. You can go subscribe to my YouTube. But I'll also send out email reminders as well as post on social media to remind people of when I am going live!

Have you tried to make a quilted tote yet? Here is my free small tote pattern! It's a great way to justify practicing your free motion quilting. Practice on some scrap fabric, then make a small tote out of it!
